Friday = Funday

“Our child hadn’t played cricket before but she was made to feel part of the team as soon as the first session started. Now she can’t wait for Friday nights!”

Sandford St Martin CC has a thriving junior section. In 2022 we provided cricket for over 100 juniors aged between 5 and 15. We aim to be a welcoming club providing cricket for all abilities to all genders.

This coming season we are running junior cricket on Friday evenings between the 5th of May and 14th July. We are running two different sessions each Friday, and these can be seen below:

Our lead coaches are all ECB qualified.

At Sandford we believe all cricket should be fun, and this forms the base of all our sessions.

Our soft-ball cricket provides a space for all abilities, whether you have never picked a cricket bat up before or have been playing for a few years. We focus on developing those skills in a fun, engaging way.

 Our hard-ball cricket remains focused on fun, but provides a space for more technical coaching for those who want this and are suitably experienced.

All our hardball teams are entered in Oxfordshire leagues, and people will be updated when these dates are announced.

With a variety of hardball teams, we hope everybody who wants to, will be given the opportunity to take part.

When registering, please inform the club if your child suffers from any serious medical conditions or allergies/reactions.  And please ensure that your child comes to training with their medication such as inhalers.  All our lead coaches have First Aid Certificates and all coaches and assistant coaches hold a valid DBS certificate.

Performance Pathway

Please let one of our coaches know if you would like us to nominate your child for the County Development Squads that are run by the Oxfordshire Cricket Board. The philosophy behind the Performance Pathway is to make the link between Club and County Cricket stronger and more consistent.
